Simple Coconut Oil Strategies

Adding coconut oil to your natural health strategy (while eliminating unhealthful fats and oils) has so many benefits that it makes good sense for anyone who wants to improve their health and well-being.

What follows is essential diet information that can help you move towards a healthier lifestyle for you and your family. It has to do with fats and oils--which ones are good for you and which aren’t.

Since fats and oils are a staple in many people’s diets, it’s very important to be aware of this information and use it in formulating your health strategies.

1. Use virgin coconut oil daily in the kitchen, raw and for cooking.

2. Use extra virgin olive oil and real butter, but not for cooking.

The following nutrient-rich traditional fats have nourished healthy population groups for thousands of years:

• Butter

• Beef and lamb tallow

• Lard (from pigs)

• Chicken, goose and duck fat

• Coconut, palm and sesame oils

• Cold pressed olive oil (Use only raw; in other words, not for cooking.)

• Cold pressed flax oil (Use only raw.)

• Marine oils (Today, mercury toxicity is an issue and therefore using these oils requires more care and may not be the best option.)

3. Eliminate all vegetable oils from your diet and kitchen.

The following newfangled fats can cause cancer, heart disease, immune system dysfunction, sterility, learning disabilities, growth problems and osteoporosis:

• All hydrogenated oils (This includes margarine and shortening.)

• Soy, corn and safflower oils

• Cottonseed oil

• Canola oil

• All fats heated to very high temperatures in processing and frying

These strategies may seem complicated or difficult to do, and admittedly it can be a challenge. You can either make the changes all at once, if you have the time, money and know-how. Or you can do what my wife I did. We implemented the changes slowly, as we were able to and money and time permitted.

But whatever you do, take some action on these. You won’t regret it.

These very simple and clear natural health strategies can greatly impact your current health situation. One last bit of advice. Continue to learn all you can about fats and oils.
