Hope for Diabetics: Raw Food

I just finished watching a movie with hope for diabetics again for the umpteenth time and wanted to share with you my reaction to Raw for 30 Days.

I cried for joy. I laughed.

I'm so happy. Yet, at the same time, I feel a deep sadness.

Sadness? Why?

Because this didn't have to happen.

These people didn't have to be sick. How many didn't have to suffer and die?

There is hope for diabetics

But the happy side of this is that there is hope for those with diabetes. There is a natural way to treat diabetes and overcome. There is hope that you won't have to inject insulin every day for the rest of your life.

There is hope that you can lead a normal, happy, fulfilling life without having to take toxic pharmaceuticals and spend countless hours of your life in doctors' offices and hospitals.

Although this natural alternative does take time and effort, it certainly is worth a try, isn't it?

The other side of the Raw Food alternative

Now, what are the side effects of the raw diet?

Well, not only is it possible to control glucose levels without medication, but you might also experience these side effects:

  • weight loss
  • elimination of brain fog
  • clearer thinking and mental state
  • abundant energy
  • generally happier disposition
  • normalization of blood pressure...

and the list goes on. Now aren't these side effects better than those of the pharmaceuticals most diabetics have to take?

"Diabetes is a chronic disease that has no cure." -The American Diabetes Association

That's certainly not very encouraging. Neither are these points taken directly from the film:

  • "246 million people in the world today who suffer from diabetes. It's a major pandemic situation that we have to pay attention to." -Gabriel Cousens, M.D., M.D.(H)
  • "Type 2 diabetes has tripled in the last 10 years." -Fred Bisci, N.D.
  • The average American consumes 150 pounds (68 kilograms) of sugar per year. [That's almost 1.5 kilos per week!]
  • 1 out of 3 children born after the year 2000 will get diabetes.
  • Diabetes costs the United States US$174 billion a year. That's about as much as the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and the global war on terror combined.

And the above statistics don't take into account the human suffering and loss of life.

Some of what you'll find in the film that gives hope for diabetics

David Wolfe, author and nutritionist, says the following:

"Where you are right now, with diabetes, with suffering, with pain, with cancer, with disease, with frustration, with doubt. There is a way out. You decide it. You choose."

Kirt Tyson, a participant in the Raw for 30 Days film, had the following to say after the program ended:

A lot of the conditions we have now are because we've moved to this fast-food nation. Before, we would take time to make food. Now we don't do that.

Raw food requires that. You have to take your time, your energy, your love into making food. And then sharing it with others.

But I tell you one thing, it's a whole lot less time involved by making food than by having to spend four days in the hospital.

60 days after the one month Simply Raw program at the Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Arizona, Kirt's blood sugar was completely normal without medication. Doesn't that give great hope for diabetics?

Review of his previous medical tests revealed that Kirt was actually a Type 1 diabetic.

Type 1 diabetics produce little or no insulin. The disease is normally considered incurable.

His doctor had planned on getting Kirt an insulin pump when he returned from Arizona. That's about the extent of many doctors' hope for a diabetic.

Kirt goes on to say:

"The results were amazing. I'm not supposed to be producing insulin. This isn't supposed to happen.

But as you can see from the results, I'm producing insulin.

I can go from Type 1 to not having diabetes. That's incredible.

Diabetes is reversible. We have the results to show it."

As a Type 1, Kirt's blood sugar stabilized to normal in week 2, without medication.

Kirt is now attending medical school to become a naturopathic doctor to pass on what he's learned.

Diabetes is not a death sentence. You can choose life and turn this around in a matter of weeks. There is hope for diabetics.

As a Type 1, Austin Rowland reduced his daily insulin from 70 units to 5 units.

As you can see, there IS hope for diabetics. There is a natural way, a natural health strategy that can help you find YOUR way to health, happiness, vitality, and well-being.

Disclaimer note from the producers of Raw for 31 Days:

If you are on insulin or oral hypoglycemics, do not try this approach without medical supervision. If you are not on any diabetic medication, oral hypoglycemics, or insulin, then we invite you to safely explore this option on your own. Reversing diabetes takes different lengths of time for different people. The film does not intend to imply that Type 1 diabetes can be healed with any predictable regularity.
